Valley oak uplighting
Broad, low-branching valley oaks need several uplights spaced around the trunk so the whole spread of the canopy reads at night, not just one side.
Water feature lighting
Kaylor Landscape builds waterfalls, fountains and springs. Submersible and edge fixtures light falling water and the stone around it.
Pergola and patio downlights
Fixtures mounted on beams or patio covers light dining and seating areas evenly, which suits the covered outdoor rooms common in Visalia backyards.
Path, step and hardscape lights
Path lights, step lights and wall fixtures follow the walks, stairs and retaining walls that a landscape build adds.
Entry and facade lighting
Narrow spotlights on columns, stone and the front door give the house a clear shape from the street.
Commercial and downtown grounds
Entry, walkway and planter lighting for offices, retail and public spaces, with installs scheduled around business hours.

Plan Visalia Landscape Lighting While Your Yard Is Built
Kaylor Landscape describes itself as one of the few choices for custom landscape construction in the Porterville and Visalia areas, with work that runs from patios and hardscape to irrigation, drainage and lighting. The cleanest time to add lighting is during that build, before sod, pavers and planting beds go in, while the ground is still open and easy to work.
Planning early means cable sleeves go under new walks and patios, transformer locations are set next to outlets, and fixtures for the water feature are built in rather than added later. It also avoids trenching through a finished lawn. For an existing yard, we work around what is there and run cable through beds wherever possible.

Lighting Visalia's Valley Oaks and Shade Trees
Visalia is known for its valley oaks, and many older lots near downtown and along the city's tree-lined streets have one or more large oaks or shade trees. These are wide, low-spreading trees, so a single uplight lights only one side. Three or four fixtures spaced around the trunk show the whole shape, and the light catches the twisting limbs that make valley oaks so recognizable.
Valley oaks are also sensitive to root disturbance, so we keep cable runs shallow and route around the root zone rather than through it, and avoid attaching hardware that damages bark. Warm white keeps the bark and leaves natural, and the light stays aimed into your yard rather than across the street or into a neighbor's bedroom window.

No bark-damaging hardware
Warm white for natural bark and foliage

The Visalia Grinch tradition
Van Crawford's ten seasons as the Visalia Grinch, with a synchronized show that collected for the Visalia Rescue Mission, show how much Visalia neighborhoods care about lights. Good path lighting keeps visiting crowds safe.
Gateway to Sequoia
Visalia sits on the main route to Sequoia National Park, and properties toward Exeter and Three Rivers have bigger lots and rolling ground where long path runs and step lights matter.

FAQ
Landscape Lighting in Visalia: Common Questions
Do you install landscape lighting in Visalia?
Yes. Visalia is one of our seven core cities, and we design and install low-voltage LED landscape lighting for Visalia homes and businesses. Nearby Tulare County towns on our service list include Exeter, Farmersville, Goshen, Ivanhoe and Three Rivers.
Can lighting be added while Kaylor Landscape builds my Visalia yard?
Yes, and that is the easiest time to do it. Kaylor Landscape builds custom landscapes in the Porterville and Visalia areas. Planning lighting during the build lets cable sleeves go under new walks and patios and fixtures go into water features before they are finished.
How do you light a large valley oak without hurting it?
We place uplights at a distance from the trunk, keep cable shallow and route it around the root zone instead of trenching through it. We also avoid hardware that damages bark. Three or four fixtures around a wide oak show the full canopy without crowding the base.
Can you light a fountain or waterfall?
Yes. Kaylor Landscape builds waterfalls, fountains, springs and lit water features. Submersible fixtures light the water itself, and edge fixtures pick out the surrounding stone and planting, all on the same low-voltage system as the rest of the yard.
How much does landscape lighting cost in Visalia?
Visalia landscape lighting is custom-priced by scope, so there is no fixed package price. Whether it is a new build or a retrofit, how many large trees you light, water features, outdoor rooms and controls make the biggest difference. You receive a written proposal after the consultation.
Have you done commercial lighting work in Visalia?
Yes. We illuminated street trees for the Downtown Visalia Association and installed programmable color-changing lighting at the Visalia Convention Center. Downtown Visalia is a current client, and our landscape lighting also serves commercial and public properties.
Can my Visalia landscape lights change color?
Yes. Kaylor Landscape offers Bluetooth-enabled color-changing lighting that can highlight different features for holidays or events, then return to warm white. Most homes keep warm white as the everyday setting and use color for occasions.
What maintenance does a landscape lighting system need?
Most systems need lens cleaning, re-aiming as plants grow, trimming around fixtures and a check of wire connections. Sprinkler overspray leaves hard-water spots on lenses in the Valley. Kaylor Landscape provides maintenance and repair for outdoor lighting, irrigation and drainage.
